Originality You may submit your original research to Studies in Generative Grammar (SGG), and submitting a manuscript for a review implies that neither the manuscript has been published elsewhere nor is it under review or publication in any other journal. If potential plagiarism (including self-plagiarism) is detected, the author(s) will be contacted for clarification. If, however, plagiarism is confirmed by the Ethics Committee of the KGGC, ditorial actions may be taken. For example, if it turns out during a review that a submitted manuscript has already been published elsewhere, the editorial board will ask referees to stop reviewing the manuscript; if it is discovered after the review or publication that it has been published elsewhere, it will be withdrawn from the journal. In either case, the fact that you committed plagiarism will be reported to the Ethics Committee of the journal. Anyone who commits such plagiarism would be eventually disqualified for membership of the Korean Generative Grammar Circle and prohibited from submitting his/her research to Studies in Generative Grammar afterwards. |

Submission procedure You are supposed to go through about five steps until your paper is published in Studies in Generative Grammar. First, you need to have your manuscript ready in accordance with the manuscript guidelines. If you are not a native speaker of English but your manuscript is written in English, please make sure you get the manuscript proofread by a native speaker before submission. Second, you can only submit your manuscript electronically through an online review system (a.k.a. JAMS) managed by the editorial board. To submit a manuscript for a review, please click on the icon "E-Submission" to the right at our journal homepage; you can also find our JAMS site at https://kggc.jams.or.kr/co/main/jmMain.kci. You may be able to log onto the site only if you get an ID and PW, so please follow the instructions provided by the review system. If you have trouble getting membership and logging in at the online submission site, you may wish to contact an editorial assistant at kggcedit@naver.com. Contributors who are staying outside S. Korea are more likely to experience such a problem; the editorial assistant will promptly help those overseas contributors to complete their online submission. Notice also that once you are logged onto the online submission system, you will automatically obtain membership of the Korean Generative Grammar Circle KGGC Third, at the time of submission via the online review system, you are asked to fill out a review request form which is available as an attachment at the journal website; completing the form means that you agree to be compliant with all the regulations of the editorial board as well as the research integrity requirement. The completed review request form should be sent along to the editorial board at kggcedit@naver.com. Fourth, once a manuscript and a completed review request form are received through the online submission system, each manuscript will be reviewed by three referees. The editorial board invite referees considering their research field and topics without the author information revealed to the reviewers. It would generally take two weeks or so for a review to be completed. A submitted manuscript will be evaluated as one of four different grades: "Publish without changes," "Publish after changes," "Reevaluate after changes" and "Cannot publish." If your paper is rated as "publish after changes," you should revise a submitted version on a par with the comments and suggestions by three anonymous reviewers. On the other hand, if your paper is rated as "Reevaluate after changes," you are required to prepare a substantially revised manuscript by faithfully reflecting what three reviewers have suggested. For a manuscript accepted for publication, you should format the paper following the guidelines in the Style Guidelines and be able to promptly respond to any requests by an assistant to the editorial board or an editing staff at the publisher (Hankuk Publishing Company). In case you do not comply with the Style Guidelines, publication of your paper may be delayed. If you are not a native speaker of English, you will be asked again to have a pre-final version of your paper proofread by a native speaker of English. In the fifth step, when you upload a proofread final version of your accepted paper at the online review system, you should fill out a Copyright Transfer Agreement form available at this site, emailing it to the editorial board at kggcedit@naver.com. Please carefully read the agreement form before you sign it, lest you should avoid any legal problem after your paper is published. |
